Dato’ Seri Ivan TehAWARDS AND RECOGNITION

Technology and innovation honours

Awards decided by technology peers, platform partners and industry judges.

Judged by people who build the same things

Technology awards are decided by peers, platform owners and technical judges. That changes what can be claimed successfully. A business panel can be persuaded by growth figures; a panel of engineers and platform architects generally cannot be persuaded by anything other than the work.

The entries below come from four different kinds of assessor: a national industry association, a platform vendor evaluating its own partner ecosystem, a regional business review, and an executive judging panel at a channel awards programme.

The entries

Technology and innovation honours

Technopreneur of Excellence

Conferred by PIKOM ICT Awards, National Tech Association of Malaysia

Awarded for disruptive contributions to the national digital economy. PIKOM is the industry body representing the Malaysian technology sector, so the honour carries the assessment of direct peers rather than of a general business panel.

Business Intelligence Partner of the Year, Asia Pacific

Conferred by Microsoft

A partner award decided on technical depth, customer outcomes and the sophistication of solutions delivered on the platform across the Asia Pacific region.

Malaysia Technology Excellence Award

Conferred by Asian Business Review

Recognised for applied artificial intelligence in logistics optimisation, an area where model quality is measured against operational cost and delivery performance rather than against a benchmark score.

Homegrown Independent Software Vendor

Conferred by Channel Asia Innovation Awards

Presented at a regional programme that shortlisted more than two hundred finalists from a field of ninety organisations and over three hundred nominations, judged by an executive panel of industry figures. The category recognises software built in the region for regional and global customers.

Applied rather than theoretical

The Malaysia Technology Excellence recognition is worth singling out because of what it was given for: artificial intelligence applied to logistics optimisation. Logistics is an unforgiving test bed. A routing model either lowers cost and improves delivery performance against real constraints, or it does not, and the answer arrives quickly.

The Channel Asia recognition carries a different signal. It was awarded in a field that shortlisted more than two hundred finalists drawn from ninety organisations and over three hundred nominations, in the homegrown independent software vendor category. The category itself is the point: software built in the region, sold to regional and global customers.
